Illiana Christian's volleyball team beat Rich South 25-8, 25-9 to win Saturday's Class 3A Tinley Park Regional.

The Vikings (30-1) lost in the regional championship last year, but they wouldn't be denied Saturday as Katie Larson had five kills, two blocks and three aces. Jessica Wiltjer added six kills and two blocks, while Ally Vree had six kills.

Illiana will be Evergreen Park on Tuesday in a Crete-Monee Sectional semifinal.

Class 4A Marist Sectional

Marist 25-25, T.F. South 22-20

Rebels lose in finals

T.F. South (19-10) had five kills and four aces from Marci Zegarac, but it wasn't enough to stop Marist.

Rebecca Lourwood added five kills and six assists, while Rhiannon Hanft and Ashley Olszewski each had four kills. Emily Tortolano contributed nine assists in the loss.

Vikings finish second

Illiana Christian was second in the team standings with 88 points, as University High won with 85 points.

The Vikings' Chloe Porter was the top local finisher as she was fourth in 20:12.38. Teammate Ashley Dekker was 16th in 20:47.38, while Erinn Behn was 22nd in 21:02.14.

T.F. North's Kiera Tate was 19th in 20:49.61.

Vikings take fourth place

Homewood-Flossmoor finished fourth in the team standings with 132.5 points, as Lincoln-Way East won with 278 points. H-F's Hannan Ongma on the 50-yard freestyle in 25.87, and the Vikings' 200 medley relay team took second in 1:57.11.
