With the Indianapolis Colts opening training camp on Aug. 3 in Terre Haute, they are one of the last teams in the NFL to get their 2009 preseason practices underway.

In the meantime, the Colts organization is busy giving back to their fans.

For the second consecutive year, the organization is hosting Colts Fan Fest, and today, the traveling show is making a stop in Valparaiso, complete with player and cheerleader appearances, a musical performance by the Jester Kings and a tour of Colts in Motion, a 42-inch long traveling museum.

"We provide hundreds of free events for our fans every year," said Tom Zupancic, Colts senior vice president of sales and marketing, on the team's Web site. "Colts Fan Fest is our way of giving back to our fans to thank them for their continued support. We want our fans all across the state to be able to touch the Colts franchise in their own backyards."

The Colts have not disclosed which players are going to attend. Earlier this summer, wide receiver Pierre Garcon and defensive tackle Eric Foster appeared in Columbus, and Garcon and fellow wide receiver Sam Giguere were in Jasper.

Colts Fan Fest will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Central Park Plaza in downtown Valparaiso and will also feature a "Books for Youth" book drive and a chance to win tickets to a preseason Colts game.
