The Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce continues to dominate Southland's Best.
“This remarkable milestone is a reflection of the vibrant, supportive business community we have built together here in Tinley Park,” Chamber President Jame Holt says.
"This achievement is possible through the collective effort of many dedicated individuals.We would like to extend our deepest thanks to our tremendous front office staff, whose daily hard work keeps our operations running smoothly.”
Holt also credits the chamber's directors for their “visionary” leadership and the Village of Tinley Park, as well as the chamber’s community events such as as Vine Fest and Oktoberfest, for its success.
“We appreciate every member, partner and resident who invests their time and resources into making our organization what it is today,” Holt says. “We look forward to continuing our work to ensure Tinley Park remains a thriving hub for opportunity and connection.”
The Gatto’s motto is “Arrive as friends, leave as family.”
The business started in 2000 and 26 years later, it has grown to three locations — Tinley Park, New Lenox and Downers Grove.
“We are family owned and operated and believe in treating all of our customers as family as well,” the Gatto’s website says. “We are always excited to see our regulars and always eager to meet new friends.
“Since 2000, we have been preparing our unique and flavorful Italian food from traditional homemade recipes. We believe our superior customer service and flavorful cuisine sets us apart from other Italian restaurants in the area.”
“Tinley Park really is an exceptional community and seeing it recognized as ‘Best Place to Live,’ and ‘Best Place to Work' says a lot about the community we’ve built here,” Mayor Michael Glotz says. “We have great people, great schools, great businesses and so many things to do. There’s a real sense of community here, too, and that’s what keeps making Tinley Park such a great place to live and to work.”
Year in and year out the village tries to improve the community with Harmony Square, opened in 2025, having a full season of activities this year.
“Harmony Square has been a game changer for Tinley Park,” Glotz says. “From our outstanding concerts and farmers' market to holiday light shows and the winter ice rink experience, there is always something to do in Downtown Tinley. Downtown Tinley is the place to be.”
Tinley Park also was voted Best Downtown and Best Place to Work.
The way Rev. Paul Seaman sees it, spreading the good word and positive messages should not just be confined to the walls of the church.
“I am very proud of the good work St. George offers to our Tinley Park community,” Seaman says. “Our goal as a Catholic church is to spread the love of Jesus Christ to all. Our people are generous and concerned for those in need. Every day is a new opportunity to share God’s grace. All are welcome at St. George.”
