The assisted living at Victorian Village in Homer Glen is a place of connection.
“Our residents come and often find a new sense of belonging that they weren’t expecting, leaving many to say that they wish they hadn’t waited so long to come,” said Johanna Zandstra, chief administrative officer. “We see new friendships and old ones renewed on a daily basis. The campus is a Christian-based nonprofit community equipped to take residents through the aging process. It offers long-term care and memory care as well as home health and hospice services. A nurse is on staff 24-hours, and resident aides are available to assist with dressing and bathing.
Rebuilt opened in September 2023, and it quickly grew. What began as a chiropractic clinic has grown into a 7,000 square-foot facility that now houses Rebuilt Strength + Rehab, Rebuilt Performance and Rebuilt Pilates.
“The facility puts three services under one roof — rehab, performance and Pilates,” said founder Kyle Richmond. “We built the space to be all-encompassing. A patient can go from acute pain to full return to sport without ever leaving the building, and the clinicians, coaches and instructors all work together. Most people bounce between a chiropractor, a gym and somewhere else for recovery and none of those places talk to each other. Here they do.”
The approach to care is something that makes Rebuilt stand out. “We work with everyone from general population patients to professional athletes, and the process is the same for both. Someone who sits at a desk all day gets the same standard of care and the same kind of programming as an athlete does,” he said.
