Gov. Braun honors Hope Academy's 20th anniversary, highlights recovery support
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Governor Mike Braun visited Hope Academy to honor the school’s 20th anniversary, meet with students and staff, and present a proclamation recognizing April 30, 2026, as Hope Academy Day in Indiana.
Hope Academy, founded in 2006, is Indiana’s only recovery high school and has spent two decades providing a safe, supportive, and academically rigorous environment for students in recovery from substance use disorders. Hope Academy is a public school, one of Indiana’s many successful charter schools. The school combines accredited academics with evidence-based recovery services, helping students stay on track to graduate while building long-term health, stability, and success.
“Hope Academy gives students a place to learn, recover, and build a strong future. Every student deserves a path forward, and earning a diploma can open doors to a great career, further education, and a great life, and for 20 years, Hope Academy has been helping them on that path.” — Governor Mike Braun
During the visit, Governor Braun toured the school, met with students and staff, and presented a proclamation honoring Hope Academy’s impact. The proclamation recognizes that Hope Academy has empowered more than 800 young people and their families through individualized education, recovery support, and life-changing resources.
