Good afternoon,
As we settle into the new semester, we want to share a few key updates regarding campus printing, along with quick troubleshooting steps for common issues.
Changes to campus printing
PaperCut now requires an on-campus network connection
To use PaperCut Web Print on personal devices, or to scan QR codes on printers, your device must be connected directly to a campus network. Make sure you are connected to eduroam or using a wired campus computer. You cannot print from your device that is connected only to your cellular provider’s network.

Printers are now assigned to campus devices based on location. When you log into a campus computer, you may briefly notice print queues loading in the background for a few moments. This is normal.
How to print to on-campus printers
1. Submit a document to a print queue
- From a campus computer, select one of the available print queues (Hammond-BW-Printing, Hammond-Color-Printing, Westville-BW-Printing, Westville-Color-Printing) when printing your document. If no queues appear, try changing your password and restarting the device, or follow the personal device instructions below.
- From a personal device (mobile phone, laptop, etc.):
- Go to PaperCut on a device connected to eduroam and sign in with Career Account username and password.
- Click WebPrint.
- Select one of the print queues.
- Upload a document (it must be one of the listed file types).
2. Release the print job to the on-campus printer
- From a mobile device connected to eduroam:
- Scan the QR code on the listed printer.
- Sign in with Career Account username and password.
- Print jobs will automatically send to the scanned printer.
- Or from any device:
- Go to PaperCut on a device connected to either eduroam or a physical campus network and sign in with Career Account username and password.
- Click Jobs Pending Release.
- Click Print next to the document (or Release All).
- Select a printer (the name is the building, room number and model).
Troubleshooting
Printer queues missing or failing to connect
If your expected printers are not showing up or will not connect, please reset your campus password, restart your computer, and log back in. This refresh resolves the issue for most devices.
Old printer queues still showing up
If your PNW-managed computer is still showing old or nonfunctional printer options from previous semesters, trying to print to them will cause errors. If restarting does not automatically clear them, please reach out to the CSC so we can clean up those old settings.
Connection issues on eduroam
Because PaperCut now requires an active campus network connection, any temporary Wi-Fi drops will prevent jobs from submitting. If Web Print or scanning fails, verify that your device has not dropped off eduroam before trying again.
