CHICAGO — Indiana University Northwest junior Katie Plopper (Griffith, Ind.) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) women's cross country runner of the week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Plopper earned the weekly honor after setting both a personal record and a new Indiana Northwest program record at the Concordia University Wisconsin Ken Weidt Classic on Saturday.
The junior completed the 6K race in 24:54.6, placing ninth among 94 competitors and leading the RedHawks at the meet. Her performance marked a significant improvement from her previous personal-best time, which she lowered by 1 minute, 15 seconds.
