Madison Wallace joins Purdue Northwest softball staff
Purdue Northwest Softball head coach Claire Schapker has officially announced the addition of Madison Wallace as assistant coach.
"I am very excited to welcome Madison as an Assistant Coach to the PNW Softball coaching staff," said Coach Schapker. "Madison brings great, high-level experience as a former collegiate player, but also a strong passion for coaching and commitment to developing student-athletes that will make an immediate impact on our program. I look forward to getting our fall season started with Madison and the team!"
Wallace brings extensive experience as both a player and coach. Prior to joining PNW, she served as a Graduate Assistant Softball Coach at Kansas Wesleyan University from 2024-26. During her time at Kansas Wesleyan, Wallace assisted with varsity and junior varsity practices, pregame preparation, speed and conditioning, defensive strategy, player evaluations and individual skill development. She also served as the head coach of the junior varsity program, leading the team to its first winning record and first postseason championship appearance. In addition, Wallace helped organize prospect camps, coordinate team travel and meals, manage equipment and oversee team social media.

Wallace also has experience in the club softball setting, serving as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Central California Firecrackers 18 Gold, where she helped more than 30 athletes transition to collegiate softball. Her coaching experience has allowed her to work extensively in recruiting, player development, defensive instruction and building relationships with student-athletes. Before beginning her coaching career, Wallace competed for six years at the NCAA Division I level. She began her collegiate playing career at Fresno State from 2019-21 before continuing at St. John's University. During her time with the Red Storm, Wallace appeared in 79 games and earned starts at second base and designated player.

"I'm looking forward to working alongside Coach Claire Schapker while having the opportunity to coach and develop such talented student-athletes. I'm beyond eager to contribute to the continued growth and success of the PNW Softball program and can't wait to get started!"
Wallace was a standout prep athlete at Lemoore High School in Lemoore, California, where she was a four-year softball player and team captain during her junior and senior seasons. She was ranked No. 72 nationally in the 2018 class by Extra Inning Softball and was a three-time All-League selection. During her junior and senior seasons, she led her team in hits, runs, walks and RBIs.
Wallace earned her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from St. John's University in 2022 and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from St. John's in 2024. She also earned her MBA with an emphasis in Sports Management from Kansas Wesleyan University in 2026.
A native of Lemoore, California, Wallace is the daughter of Michael and Sherry Wallace and has one sister, Mackenzie.
