Expectant families and new parents can learn about newborn care during a free baby shower in Michigan City.

Franciscan Health Michigan City will host its Way to Grow baby shower from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 3 at the hospital, 3500 Franciscan Way. The event will be held in the Maria Theresia Conference Room, across from the cafeteria on the first floor.
The event will include information about car seat safety, prenatal care, safe sleep, breastfeeding, pregnancy care and community resources. Attendees also can tour the Family Birth Center, participate in yoga and relaxation sessions, enjoy a breakfast buffet and enter giveaways.
Prizes will include a Doona stroller and a Jeep stroller wagon.
