Community Hospital earned a number of distinctions from Healthgrades for delivering patient outcomes with different types of care.
The Powers Health hospital in Munster won Healthgrades Stroke Care Excellence Award and the Cranial Neurosurgery Excellence Award for the fourth year in a row. It also ranked as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Care.
“Recognition like this reflects the expertise, dedication and compassionate care our teams provide to patients every day,” said CEO Randy Neiswonger. “We are proud to be recognized for excellence across multiple areas of care and remain committed to delivering the high-quality outcomes our patients and community deserve.”
Community Hospital serves as a Comprehensive Stroke Center that treats patients from around Northern Indiana. The hospital also aims to provide high-quality digestive health services to treat various gastrointestinal conditions.
The grades are based entirely on clinical outcomes such as risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates.
“Finding a hospital that excels in a given procedure or treatment can transform a patient’s health trajectory,” said Alana Biggers, medical adviser at Healthgrades. “We’re proud to recognize Community Hospital for its top-tier performance in Neuroscience and Gastrointestinal Care.”
