Franciscan Health will distribute turkeys and traditional side dishes to people experiencing food insecurity at three Mobile Markets across Northwest Indiana in November.
Families will be provided the food they need to make a traditional Thanksgiving meal from 3 to 5 p.m., or until supplies run out, Nov. 17 at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 889 S. Court St., Crown Point; Nov. 18 in the parking lot of the Franciscan Health Hammond Dr. John Lanman Clinic, 5529 Hohman Ave., Hammond; and Nov. 19 at Franciscan Behavioral Health Michigan City, 301 W. Homer St., Michigan City.
"One frozen turkey and side items will be distributed per family on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Attendees must present valid proof of Indiana residency," Franciscan Health said in a press release.
"Volunteers will be on-site at each location to assist with lining up vehicles for the drive-through events. For safety reasons, attendees must be in vehicles, not on foot.
Franciscan Health partners with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana and the Northern Indiana Food Bank to offer the Mobile Markets, which also rely on donations.
