Powers Health hospitals received two national honors in the 2026 NRC Health Excellence in Patient Experience Awards.
Community Hospital in Munster
Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart and Powers Health Rehabilitation Center in Crown Point received the Small Health System Award. The rehabilitation center also received the Specialty Hospital Award.
The awards were based on real-time Net Promoter Scores submitted by patients from April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026. They recognize performance in areas patients ranked as most important.
"Every interaction matters when it comes to a patient’s healthcare journey," Powers Health Chief Operating Officer Alan Kumar said. "This recognition reflects the dedication of our physicians, nurses and staff who work every day to provide compassionate care, listen to our patients’ concerns and ensure they feel supported throughout their experience with us."

Craig Bolda, administrator of Powers Health Rehabilitation Center, said the award reflects caregivers’ commitment to helping patients regain their independence and quality of life.
"Our team is committed to treating every patient with dignity, respect and empathy," Bolda said. "This award reflects the meaningful connections our caregivers build with those we serve."
